Beaches
Pattaya
bay has its own beach becoming much cleaner over a couple of years
ago. The half-moon-shaped Pattaya Beach is 3 kilometres in length
in line with a street running parallel to the beach. There is a
vast array of restaurants, open-air bars, department stores, souvenir
shops, nightlife venues e.g. go-go bars. Most visitors prefer the
nearby Jomtien beach which is a short bus ride from the centre of
Pattaya. Windsurfing, para-sailing, water scooters, and swimming
are some of the more water sport activities on offer, or you may
prefer a relaxing massage. Food and drink can be ordered from beach
vendors.
Pattaya Beach is one of the country's most famous beaches paralleled
by a tree-lined promenade and road. The beach curves from north
to south for about 4 kilometre in length. The central and southern
parts of Pattaya Beach are alive with water sport activities, and
shopping venues while Central Pattaya is a major shopping area with
many department stores and South Pattaya is one of Pattaya's famous
nightlife zones with restaurants, bars, discotheques, nightclubs.
Pattaya Beach
The main attraction of Pattaya is its long curving beach. Stretching
to the south, the hill rises and extends well into the sea. On top
of the hill is a temple with a large-seated Buddha at the crown.
There is a good panoramic view of beautiful Pattaya bay from this
hill-top temple. Apart from the hill in the southern end of Pattaya
is Jomtien beach which is another long beach side. The water level
is slightly deeper than that of Pattaya, and the section just south
of the hill is very popular with local people. There are many sections
here where you can rent a beach chair and order food and drinks
from staff serving. Numerous beach vendors also walk pass by selling
fruits, ice cream and many other things including beach massage.

Jomtien Beach
This 6-kilometre long, largely straighten beach, some 4 kilometres
south of Pattaya, is the most notable of several beaches. Jomtien
Beach is popular with windsurfers and water sports enthusiasts,
mainly because the area enjoys the brisk and fresh breezes sweeping
the inland from Gulf of Thailand where the ocean is less congested
with boats than that of Pattaya Bay. This beach is also a major
residential area with beachside hotels, bungalow complexes, condominiums,
restaurants, and entertainment venues.
Wong Prachan Beach
Wong Prachan Beach is on the northern side of Pattaya Bay. This
one kilometre beach shares the same entrance as the Central Wong
Amat Hotel. A quiet spot where the beach is ideal for swimming and
relaxation.
