Naval Museum
Naval Museum is a special type of museum established
by the Royal Thai Navy. It is assigned to be responsible for collection
and preservation of value, ancient and historical items and places
related to the Navy. Inside the museum, lots of naval historical information
such as the past naval battles can be found, including the weapons
used during that time. Furthermore there are numbers of ancient warship
models such as the Royal Barges commissioned during the era of King
Rama the Fifth, H.T.M.S. Phra Ruaung, He-Ra Ship and, the most interesting
of all, H.T.M.S. Matchanu.
H.T.M.S. Matchanu is the only remaining submarine ever commissioned
in the Navy. Its periscope tower and top part are well preserved and
grounded in front of the museum. |
